Personalize your event

Personalizing your wedding is our specialty!! The Segwun continues to be recognized by Canada Post as a "Royal Mail Ship" meaning that any invitations can be mailed directly from our office and will be uniquely "hand franked" or cancelled as they did more than a hundred years ago. You may even decide to fly a personalized flag from the bow of the ship during your cruise.  We can even take off from many resorts around Muskoka! Please ask about these capabilities and the rates associated.


Royal Mail Ship Segwun - Capacity: 99 passengers.

Built in 1887, the Segwun is North America's oldest operating coal-fired steamship and the sole survivor of a fleet of Muskoka lakes steamships. Guests truly "step back in time" as they board the Segwun and re-live the romance and nostalgia of Muskoka's past.


Wenonah II  - Capacity: 200 passengers

Launched in May of 2002, Wenonah II is Canada's newest passenger vessel!   Combining all the style and grace of 1907 vessels and the modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and an elevator, Wenonah II truly offers a luxurious setting for wedding celebrations. Wenonah was built with entertaining in mind and offers ample room for live music and dancing on the 2nd deck.


Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre

For a truly unparalleled experience, Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre has many comfortable and unique meeting locations or can be booked for your exclusive use and accommodates 10 to 150 guests comfortably. Imagine your event surrounded by antique boats and rare heritage artifacts. Your guests will never be bored as they can wander the museum and take in the setting which features all of this and a waterfront view at no additional charge!

This special packages allows you to take your vows on Lake muskoka while cruising with your loved ones aboard our classic vessels the RMS Segwun or Wenonah II.

Your reception will take place at Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre, the most unique venue north of Toronto among rare heritage artifacts and North America's largest in-water collection of antique and classic boats.

Sample Itinerary:

3:30pm to 5:30pm - Ceremony and Cruise aboard RMS Segwun or Wenonah II

6:00pm to 10:00pm - Wedding Reception at Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre

  • The R.M.S. Segwun continues to be recognized by Canada Post as a "Royal Mail Ship" and that mail can be hand-franked or cancelled from the ship as they did more than 100 years ago.
  • In 1974, the Segwun was recommissioned by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
  • In 1996, the Wanda III Steam Yacht was recommissioned by Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
  • The Segwun's coal comes all the way from Kentucky.
  • Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre opened in 2006 and celebrates Muskoka's steamship era, grand resorts and hotels and the region's rich boat-building history.
  • Wenonah II is Canada's newest passenger vessel combining turn-of-the-century charm with modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and an on board elevator.
  • The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre is home to North America's largest in-water display of antique and classic boats.
  • The ship's private label wine is one of the few given permission by the LCBO to be sold in stores throughout Ontario.

  • In years past, a steamship purser used to take tickets as passengers boarded.  Today, our Purser is responsible for all guest services on board including your dining experience.
  • The Segwun used to carry passengers, freight and mail to a variety of ports on the Muskoka lakes before the days of the automobile.
  • Each year, the Segwun and Wenonah II host upwards of 30 memorable wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • In recent years the shift to air transport for mail has left only three ships with the right to the prefix; RMS Segwun, which serves as a passenger vessel in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada, RMS St Helena, which serves the island of Saint Helena in the South Atlantic,[9] and RMS Queen Mary 2. QM2 was conferred "RMS" by Royal Mail when she entered service in 2004 on the Southampton to New York route as a gesture to Cunard's history – The RMS Segwun is the oldest Royal Mail Ship in the world.
